It seems things are now in motion in Eastern Syria for a military confrontation between US proxy forces and Russian, Assad Junior, and Iranian forces on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River. FARS, the Iranian news agency has this story. I posted earlier that the USA was building new military bases, and expanding current ones in the oil rich region of Eastern Syria. I also pointed out that this would eventually lead to a stark choice for Trump. He would either have to defend these firebases, or abandon them. If he fights, the USA will never leave Syria, but if he doesn’t, then the USA will be totally kicked out of Syria.

The Syrian Army troops and their allies have been amassing their forces along the Western bank of the Euphrates River for nearly two weeks now, massdar quoted the source.
The source added that the government forces are planning on crossing the bridge that was recently constructed by the Russian military near the key town of Khasham in Eastern Deir Ezzur.
If the Syrian military does in fact cross the bridge, they will be within the striking distance of the Al-Umar Oilfields.
The region hosts Deir Ezzur’s largest oilfields, making its capture all the more important for the Syrian government.
However, the US-backed forces are not likely to give it up without a fight, despite the fact they are greatly outnumbered by the Syrian military.
While Russia and the US will provide their respective sides with military support, it will be the latter that might have to militarily intervene.
The US Coalition has bombed the Syrian military before and given their latest attack, they may choose to do so again.
My favorite would be Ottoman Empire Sultan, Erdogan of Turkey may get involved as well. He is smart enough to see what the USA is up to in Syria. Of course, Erdogan is also engaged in what we call “ethnic cleansing,” in Afrin against the Kurds. Erdogan is apparently settling all the terrorists who are being run out of town by Assad Junior and settling them in the Afrin region. Further links by Turkey to known terrorists, despite Turkey being a member of NATO.

Erdogan: The US is after oil in Syria, but we will spoil their plans
By Rudaw yesterday at 03:29
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Western powers are after Syria’s oil fields and threatened to ruin “this game” by conducting operations in Manbij and Hasaka.
“Those who are planning in Syria are planning on oil, and we will spoil this game. By supporting Syria, and making this country stay on its feet again, we will keep surprising them,” said Erdogan, referring to the US, France and the UK, while addressing AKP’s provincial congress in Haltepe.
The three allied militaries struck three facilities in Syria on Friday morning. They claim the facilities were used to produce chemical weapons like those in an alleged attack on April 7 that killed more than 40 people. The Assad regime denies it was responsible and blames Syrian opposition activists and first responders for fabricating the news.
Turkey, a strategic NATO ally with the three countries, had welcomed the strikes.
“Turkey considers the operation carried out early this morning by the United States, United Kingdom and France to be an appropriate response to the chemical attack which caused the deaths of many civilians in Douma on 7 April,” stated Turkey’s foreign ministry.
“We welcome this operation which has eased humanity’s conscience in the face of the attack in Douma, largely suspected to have been carried out by the regime,” it added.
Erdogan also accused financial sector workers in Turkey of “declaring exchange war on us” and threatened to expel them, adding that what they are doing is an act of “betrayal.”
“Hey, those who are in the finance sector do not threaten us with exchange, this and that! You will not have the right to live this country. Look, I am saying this very clearly … such an intervention is a betrayal to this country,” said Erdogan in and AKP event in Uskudar province.
Turkish lira has seen a downturn against the US dollar in the past few months. It began its nearly three-month assault on the Kurdish canton of Afrin on January 20.
As of December 31, 3.84 Turkish liras were worth $1. That peaked at 4.11 liras per dollar earlier this month, according to Forex, the global decentralized foreign-exchange market.
Under US President Donald Trump, the US has used economic sanctions in against Turkish, Syrian, and Iraqi individuals and entities.
Immediately after assuming office in January 2017, Trump told the CIA “to the victor belong the spoils.” He said he made the remarks in the context of a counterterrorism strategy to defeat ISIS “because that’s where they made their money in the first place.”
“So we should have kept the oil,” he said. “But, OK, maybe you’ll have another chance.”
Trump has also signed recent executive orders to sanction entities associated with Russian oil giant Gazprom and business people associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran.
The US-led international anti-ISIS coalition has partnered with the Syrian Democratic Forces to remove ISIS from places like Hasaka and Manbij. The SDF is primarily comprised of Kurdish YPG/YPJ forces which Ankara considers to be the Syrian extension of the PKK. Both groups deny the claims.
The coalition has worked to ally many SDF members with locals in northern Syrian cities to form military and civil councils. The coalition says these councils reflect the local demographics.
Next, here is what I think really happened with Israel’s attack on the same airbases the UK, US, and France attacked.
I think Israel used the old “let them think they are safe,” and then hit them tactic.
Syria moved all their airbase “stuff” to avoid getting hit during the US, UK and France attack. Next, they moved their stuff all back, thinking it was over, and lo and behold, Israel hits them with missiles, sitting fat and happy on the tarmac. Of course, I doubt the Russians got caught out in the open. I don’t see how Iran, Syria and Russia can not respond to this Israeli attack.
The confirmation for that is at the link below.
Confirmation from FARS. Syria got its fighter jets back to the bases and then Israel attacked them with missiles.

Syrian Fighter Jets Go Back Home After US Strikes End
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian warplanes that had left their bases before the US-led collation missile attacks on the country returned to their airfields across the country to continue air raids against terrorists’ positions, a media outlet reported on Monday.
The Arabic-language website of massdar news reported that the Syrian Air Force had evacuated all its fighter jets from its military bases days before the missile attacks on the country by the US, UK and France, adding that the fighter jets have now returned to their bases.
In the meantime, field sources reported that the army aircraft resumed operation immediately after their arrival in their bases and started bombing terrorists’ positions and movements.
According to the Syrian army, none of the country’s warplanes has been damaged in the coalition attacks.
The US threatened to launch an offensive on Syria last week after claims that Damascus launched a chemical attack on civilians in the town of Douma near Damascus city.
The US, France and the UK launched a series of strikes on Syria on Saturday in retaliation for the alleged chemical attack by the Syrian government in the town of Douma. The assault came hours before the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) team was scheduled to arrive in Douma to determine whether chemical weapons had indeed been used there.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the missile strike against Syria’s military and civilian infrastructures was carried out by US warplanes and naval ships in cooperation with the British and French air forces, while the Syrian air defenses shot down 71 out of 103 missiles fired by the US-led coalition.
