Here is the comment section of a post over at timebomb2000.com. This vote will be seen as the final nail in the coffin of American freedom. The only really free media in the USA is the currently relatively unregulated Internet. The fascist oligarchs running the USA today hate the Internet with a passion. It was posted by my amigo, John Galt. My comments are in bold type at the bottom of the page. This is a dark day for America.

  1. 4 BUH-BYE Internet Freedom: US Senate passes CISA, Strikes down 4 Privacy Amendments

Senate passes CISA, strikes down four pro-privacy amendments

    Published time: 27 Oct, 2015 21:22Edited time: 27 Oct, 2015 21:55
    RT

The Senate on Tuesday passed CISA, a controversial bill encouraging companies to share private user data with the government that is worrying to civil liberties advocates. Four amendments were proposed to address privacy concerns, but they all died on the floor.

The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act was introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) in June 2014 following several high-profile cyber-attacks targeting major US corporations. It would purportedly protect user data from falling into the wrong hands. After debating the merits of the bill, it passed the Senate in a 74 to 21 vote.

The bill now goes to a conference committee between the House of Representatives, which previously passed its own version, and the Senate. If or when that is approved, the bill would head to President Barack Obama.

Under the bill, companies would have increased liability protection when collecting and sharing user person information that could potentially be related to security threats. The proposed legislation also makes it easier to share that data with government agencies and with each other.

This caused the concern of privacy advocates, leading to delays in the bill’s journey through Capitol Hill. Several amendments to address privacy concerns were added to the bill, but they were all voted down.

One of the defeated amendments was proposed by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon), a critic of the privacy violations that he says the bill would facilitate. The Wyden amendment would have inserted language to protect personally identifiable information by making companies remove it “to the extent feasible” because personal information doesn’t provide information about cyber threats. The default language in CISA gives companies leeway to only remove personally identifiable information if companies “know” that it is not directly related to a cybersecurity threat.

Wyden also criticized the fact that CISA’s information sharing is promoted as voluntary, even though it is only voluntary for companies ‒ not customers. Even if users sign privacy agreements with companies, the businesses can break those agreements and remain protected from legal recourse.

“[They say] that the most important feature of the legislation is that it’s voluntary. The fact is, it is voluntary for companies. It will be mandatory for their customers,” Wyden said about the bill earlier in October. “And the fact is the companies can participate without the knowledge and consent of their customers, and they are immune from customer oversight and lawsuits if they do so.”

Despite being supported by a wide variety of organizations across the political spectrum, the Wyden amendment failed with a vote 41 to 55.

The Heller amendment was put forth by Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nevada) in case the Wyden amendment failed. It had similar measures, and would put the onus on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to remove personally identifiable information that doesn’t look related to cyber-threats. The Chamber of Commerce expressed its support for the Heller amendment.

“This cure is worse than the problem. Privacy for Nevadans is non-negotiable,” Heller said of CISA on the Senate floor on Tuesday.

Like the Wyden amendment, it was struck down on Tuesday, with a vote of 47 to 49.

The Leahy amendment, introduced by Sen. Pat Leahy (D-Vermont), was offered to deal with the issue of CISA’s sweeping Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) exemptions. Even with the amendment, most information shared between the federal government and companies would already be protected from FOIA requests as it is considered proprietary information.

“The vast majority of the exemption is already protected from disclosure,” Leahy said before the amendment came to a vote on Tuesday. He added that new exemptions are unwarranted, and that they unnecessarily override state and local state laws.

“Those who believe in local control would agree with me. It knocks out hundreds of state and local laws.”

The Leahy amendment failed 37 to 59.

The Franken amendment was put forth by Sen. Al Franken (D-Minnesota) to narrow the bill’s definitions of “cybersecurity threat.” It would have limited that designation to actions that are “reasonably likely to” cause damage to the company’s network, as opposed to CISA’s default “may.” The provision would also limit an aspect of the definition of “cyber threat indicator” to include only information necessary to describe actual harm caused by an incident, not “potential harm,” as in the original bill.

The Franken amendment failed 35 to 60.

While the White House came out in support of the bill just last week, opposition remains staunch from tech industry leaders. Groups that have come out against CISA include tech giants such as Google, Apple and Yelp, as well policy advocacy organizations such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation, FreedomWorks and Center for Democracy and Technology.

Shockingly enough, Ted Cruz was not in town.

Not shocking, Senator Rubio missed ANOTHER VOTE.

And Rand Paul who railed against this also did not vote.

The curtain is pulled back. The corrupt oligarchy running the USA is revealed yet again. This is the same group of legislators who voted for the 2008 bailout, reportedly under threat of martial law by then Secretary of the Treasury Paulsen. It is a simple fact the elected representatives of the US people have consistently voted for fascism, enhanced control by the oligarchy, and the enslavement of the US people. This vote is just another action in a long line of fascist votes. The NWO oligarchy running the USA is like a Python snake, gradually squeezing the freedom out of the USA, decade by decade, and law by law.

Putin doesn’t have any respect for Obama, the USA, NATO, or the EU. He has decided he can pretty much do whatever he wants to, wherever he wants to with near complete immunity. If you look at what he has done in the last 18 months or so, he has put the entire European/Russian border from Finland in the North, to the Ukraine in the South under threat. He has now redefined the European Russian border in his favor. He has extended that to Syria and control of the Eastern Med. He has just signed/concluded significant treaties with BOTH IRAN AND INDIA. He has closer relations with China than Russia has had in decades. Yep, Putin is now fully achieving every single historical goal of Russia going back to the 1600’s.

Watching the child Obama try to deal with the adult Putin is like watching a little league team play in the World Series.

Putin Just Warned Global War Is Increasingly More Likely: Here’s Why

10/22/2015 23:20 -0400

Vladimir Putin is basking in Russia’s triumphant return to the world stage.

What began with a land grab in Crimea and escalated with support for the separatists at Donetsk, culminated in Moscow’s dramatic entry into Syria’s protracted civil war.

To be sure, the deplorable (not to mention comically absurd) strategy adopted by the US and its regional allies in Syria set Putin up for success. The situation was highly exploitable by anyone that’s strategically minded and thanks to the convoluted set of alliances Washington has built with groups that later turned out to be extremists, Moscow gets to achieve its regional ambitions while simultaneously fighting terrorism. Meanwhile, Washington, Riyadh, Ankara, and Doha are left to look on helplessly as their Sunni extremist proxy armies are devastated by the Russian air force. The Kremlin knows there’s little chance that the West and its allies will step in to directly support the rebels – the optics around that would quickly turn into a PR nightmare.

All of this has provided the perfect backdrop for Putin to begin what’s amounted to a lecture tour on how to conduct foreign policy.

Soundbites have ranged from very serious commentary on why the West should not employ extremists to bring about regime change to comical jabs at the US and its allies who the Russian President last week accused of having “oatmeal brains” when it comes to Mid-East policy.

Speaking today at the International Valdai Discussion Club’s 12th annual meeting in Sochi, Putin delivered a sweeping critique of military strategy and foreign policy touching on everything from the erroneous labeling of some extremists as “moderates” to the futility of nuclear war.

“Why play with words dividing terrorists into moderate and not moderate. What’s the difference?,” Putin asked, adding that “success in fighting terrorists cannot be reached if using some of them as a battering ram to overthrow disliked regimes [because] it’s just an illusion that they can be dealt with [later], removed from power and somehow negotiated with.”

“I’d like to stress once again that [Russia’s operation in Syria] is completely legitimate, and its only aim is to aid in establishing peace,” Putin said of Moscow’s Mid-East strategy. And while he’s probably telling the truth there, it’s only by default. That is, peace in Syria likely means the restoration of Assad (it’s difficult to imagine how else the country can be stabilized in the short-term), and because that aligns with Russia’s interests, The Kremlin is seeking to promote peace – it’s more a tautology than it is a comment on Putin’s desire for goodwill towards men.

And then there’s Iran and its nascent nuclear program. Putin accused the US of illegitimately seeking to play nuclear police officer, a point on which he is unquestionably correct: The “hypothetical nuclear threat from Iran is a myth. The US was just trying to destroy the strategical balance, [and] not to just dominate, but be able to dictate its will to everyone – not only geopolitical opponents, but also allies.”

Speaking of nukes, Putin also warned that some nuclear powers seem to believe that there’s a way to take the “mutually” out of “mutually assured destruction.”

That is, Putin warned against the dangers of thinking it’s possible to “win” a nuclear war. Commenting on US anti-missile shields in Europe and on the idea of MAD, Putin said the following:

“We had the right to expect that work on development of US missile defense system would stop. But nothing like it happened, and it continues. This is a very dangerous scenario, harmful for all, including the United States itself. The deterrent of nuclear weapons has started to lose its value, and some have even got the illusion that a real victory of one of the sides can be achieved in a global conflict, without irreversible consequences for the winner itself – if there is a winner at all.”

In short, Putin is suggesting that the world may have gone crazy. The implication is that the US believes it not only has the capacity to win a war against the nations Washington habitually places on its various lists of “bad guys” (i.e. Russia, Iran, and China), but that Washington believes America can win without incurring consequences that are commensurate with the damage the US inflicts on its enemies. That, Putin believes, is a dangerous miscalculation and one that could end up endangering US citizens.

So once again, this is Putin setting the narrative and jumping at every opportunity to portray Russia as a nation that’s not content to “lead from behind” (as so many have recently accused the US of doing). And once again, his assessment seems remarkably sober in a world that does indeed seem to have lost its collective mind.

The Chinese are now engaged in a massive takeover of both South America and Africa in order to get political control and access to desperately needed resources like food, oil, etc. China has essentially destroyed its own ecosystems and now must go abroad to get the stuff it needs. It is also interesting the visit to Great Britain by the Prime Minister of China resulted in another 30 billion in economic activity and trade.

China is now openly moving in Africa, South America and the Pacific zones to gain total military and economic control of these regions.

CANADA’S MILITARY COLLAPSE 10-21-2015

The election of Trudeau junior is going to seal the fate of Canada’s military into a third rate military. Pierre Senior, Prime Minister from 1968 to 1979, and again from March 1980 to June of 1984, is the military model Pierre Junior will follow. Granted, Harper the so called “conservative,” allowed the final phase of military collapse to happen in his ten year reign. Still, Pierre Junior will follow his father’s policies. Pierre Senior refused to serve during World War Two, had an extreme anti-military mindset, allowed the Canadian military to begin its slide into decay, heavily centralized government decision making at the Federal level in Ottawa, mismanaged the economy, and held to an aggressive anti-American policy. We can expect Pierre Junior to do the same thing.

The dismal story of the Canadian Navy, which is no longer a navy at this point, is in the link below.

http://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/the-sinking-of-the-canadian-navy/

It points out the only destroyer the Canadian “Navy” has is 43 years old, and rotting in port. The two logistics support ships have been scraped. The four submarines are over 20 years old. The 12 Frigates are over 20 years old. The 12 “coastal patrol vessels” are also over 20 years old. Canada now totally depends on the USA for all naval defense, coastal patrol, and given the condition of the planes and ships for search and rescue, possibly to do sea rescue for Canada. The bottom line is we can expect Pierre Junior to not do anything about it. Granted, some new ships are being built, but they are years away, over budget, and behind schedule.

The condition of the Canadian Army is slightly better, at least in terms of modern equipment. Still, when I look at what they really have, well I almost have to laugh. The Canadian Army has 181 tanks, which is less than one half armor division. 66 of these tanks, German Leopards were built in 1979. They do have about 80 Leopard Tanks built within the last ten years at least. They have NO Self Propelled Howitzers, or Multiple Rocket Launchers at all. They have, get this, 151, yes 151, Towed Artillery Pieces. The entire Army contains 92,000 Active Duty, along with 51,000 Active Reserve. This is out of 13 million fit for service, and 425,000 reaching military age every year. Canada hasn’t funded or taken its military seriously since World War Two, some 70 years ago. By the way, Canada has NO attack helicopters at all, although they do have 169 Helicopters for other duties.

We now have a situation in Canada where they have NO navy, an Army that is not taken seriously in global power ratings, and a Canadian Air Force that is also not up to the task. The entire Canadian Air Force has 64 F-18’s as fighter interceptors, along with another 64 for ground attack. This is 1970’s era technology, with the planes being built starting in 1983, some 32 years ago. Of the 21 types of aircraft listed by the Canadian Army, Navy and Air Force, a staggering 15 types are non combat ones. Canada has finally started to replace the 1964 era Sea King anti-submarine helicopters this year. I guess Canada feels you should replace your helicopters every fifty years whether they need it or not.

I expect this dismal military situation in Canada to not only continue, but get worse. I won’t deny Canada has actually started to replace some of this decade’s old military equipment. I seriously doubt Pierre Junior, who already is pulling out of any oversea military deployments, to fund the military at the level it needs.

The bottom line is the entire northern flank of the USA is now wide open to attack. The current Canadian military couldn’t, as we used to say when I was in the US Army, fight its way out of a brothel. Yep, like a lot of other countries Canada is getting a free military defense courtesy of the US taxpayer. We are a nation of chumps in both the military and economic sense. Trump is going to win the election in my opinion. And when he does, the Canadian free loaders and mooches are going to get a wake up call.

The interesting thing will be if the US Senate now rejects the new Iranian “interpretation” of the treaty the US Senate actually signed. You can make the legal case that if the US Senate accepts one version of the treaty, and the Iranians refuse to accept that version, THEN THERE IS NO IRANIAN NUKE TREATY. It will also be extremely interesting, at least to me, whether the same politicians who voted for a deal that no longer exists will either flatly reject what Iran has done, or try some serious spin control. It was always about getting the sanctions removed for Iran. The $150 billion bribe didn’t hurt either!

I also have to say the level of open contempt shown by Iran for the USA in general, and Obama and Kerry in particular, is really amazing from just the diplomatic standpoint. If you add in Putin’s comment about pigeons and Obama, well it is pretty clear the USA is no longer taken seriously on the global stage.

If I were AIPAC, the Israel lobby group in DC, I would be starting a firestorm right now. In particular, those Democratic Senators, under savage attack by their Jewish, pro Israel voters, I mean the ones that write the fat campaign checks, must be foaming at the mouth now. They took the massive political hit, lining up to support Obama, the lame duck, and now find they got it from both ends. First, they took the hit, and second they got nothing for it. Iran played Obama, played his liberal treaty supporters big time. Yep, the Democrat Senators now look like the fools they really are.

IRAN REJECTS OBAMA’S IRAN NUKE PACT, WRITES OWN ‘DEAL’ TO DISARM ISRAEL

http://www.breitbart.com/national-se…disarm-israel/

JORDAN SCHACHTEL 13 Oct 2015 Washington, DC

The Iranian parliament has rejected the formal, legal text of President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal, negotiated in July by the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Russia, China and the Tehran regime.

Instead, the majilis approved their own version of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), creating a situation where the Iranian government simply hasn’t signed on to the accord that Obama and Democratic Senators obligated the United States to uphold.

Western media incorrectly reported that the majilis approved the actual text of the JCPOA, according to experts.

New York Post columnist Amir Taheri has explained in a series of social media posts that Iran’s version of the deal calls for the cancellation of sanctions against the regime in Tehran.

He also noted that Iran’s version of the nuke deal calls for the dismantling of Israel’s nuclear weapons program, citing Iranian parliamentarian Kazem Jalali.

The Middle East Media Research Center (MEMRI), a regional watchdog organization, has confirmed that Iran did not pass the deal agreed upon in July. They instead voted to pass the amended version by a vote of 161-59.

Iranian lawmakers tried to unilaterally amend the deal to strip the United States’ ability to “snapback” sanctions should the Tehran regime cheat the agreement. They also replaced the language to ensure that the deal will “cancel” sanctions forever, instead of “suspending” them, MEMRI reported.

The Middle East monitoring group added that the decision to amend the deal unilaterally came at the behest of Iran’s dictator, Ali Khamenei, who on September 3 promised not to honor the agreement with Obama.

Moreover, the American Enterprise Institute’s Iran Tracker site noted that Iran considered its unilateral amendments to the deal as four “minor changes.”

Separately, as Iranian regime parliamentarians were voting on their own version of the nuke deal, its military was testing a precision-guided ballistic missile in direct violation of United Nations Security Resolution 1929.

The Iranian government has ramped up its regional aggression in the past few months, as Iran is set to soon receive tens of billions of dollars in unfrozen assets.

Tehran’s military is now deeply involved in the ongoing civil war in Syria, with some estimates stating that there are 7,000 soldiers in Syria attempting to prop up Bashar al-Assad’s dictatorial rule. Iran has also continued to provide aid and arms to terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah, and has assisted the Houthi insurgents in Yemen. Multiple Gulf states have also accused the regime of backing terrorist movements that seek to overthrow their governments.
